What a show, the best thing that has ever been written for TV in my opinion. Great ending, just how I thought it should happen.
I know there will be plenty of people saying "I stopped watching when a fucking polar bear run through the woods". That was all explained!
And what about the opening scene.... EPIC!

I watched the first few series.
Can you sum up very briefly what happened at the end?
Or would that be a spoiler? The show did end six years ago.

I loved the show, but the ending was pretty pants, mainly because after the first series the writers themselves had no idea the direction it was going nor how to end it.

I thought they always said they had a start and a finish? It was only planned on being two series but due to the popularity they were asked to pad it out?

Well if that was the finish that they decided on from the outset then they are even worse writers than I gave them discredit for. loved the show, but shite ending.

I actually really enjoy stuff like Lost, except they usually ruin a decent series by taking 7 or 8 seasons to say what would have been better in 2 or maybe occasionally 3.
It's like most films these days, usually 30 mins to an hour too long...

was a mess of a show, great first season, followed by writers making stuff up on the fly and dropping important storylines. I'm suspicious the writers changed the original idea that the island was purgatory because everyone guessed it immediately

Spot on, my thoughts entirely. They first refused to respond to that speculation then after another season or two they flat out denied it, obviously spent that time trying to think up another reason for the island to be.

Still would have liked to see how the original ideas would have gone.
2 seasons and Jack died in the end of the first episode and was played by Michael fucking Keaton!

Cuse and Lindelof said a couple of years ago that they didn't die in the plane crash and were all still alive on a 'real' island.
The end was supposedly them all meeting again years later for the final time when they were all dead.

Just about the worst series ever (EVER, at least).
Everything that's wrong with this form of drama, where they have a basic idea and drag it out ad infinitum for commercial reasons.

Stopped watching once time travel got involved.
I know the ending and understand how it panned out - seems like a suitable ending for what they created but weren't there a ridiculous number of unanswered questions?
